HDD SATA - mód UDMA 5
HDD Barracuda ST3160811AS(160 GB) SATA II je v PC, kde ZD podporuje SATA I. Mne pracuje v móde UDMA 5. Ako to mám urobiť, aby HDD pracoval v móde UDMA 6?

ICH5/5R chipset detekuje SATA ako UDMA5. Ziadny Ultra ATA řadič od Intelu nedetekuje disky viac ako UDMA5 (aspon mne sa to nestalo, mozno niekomu hej), na rozdiel od konkurencie. Napr. UDMA6 u Gigabyte sa da dosiahnut zapojenim SATA do "gigabyte sata2 chip" konektoru.
Vyjadrenie Gigabytu na tvoju otazku:
"Based on Intel ICH5/6/7(R) controller specification, when the SATA ports that is provided by ICH5/6/7(R) works at non-RAID mode, you don't need to install specific device driver. OS will report SATA HDD works at UDMA(5) mode, but in fact, the SATA HDD will work in standard SATA mode."
